   Course & Curriculum:

M.B.B.S.

CURRICULUM :
Approved curriculum of Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council and Shahjalal University of Science and Technology.

ACADEMIC YEAR :
January – June

CLASS HOURS :
7.00 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. For clinical students 2 hours clinical teaching in the evening.

TEACHING METHODS :
The medium of teaching is English.
Teaching will be imparted to the students through lectures, demonstrations, tutorials, ward clinics, practical classes and field visits. Periodic clinical meetings, seminars are held on specific topics.

STUDENTS ATTENDANCE :
The student's attendance is recorded. The guardians are informed of their wards attendance periodically.

STUDENTS ASSESSMENTS :
Students assessment's is made through periodic class examinations (Written, Oral and Practical, card completion and clinical examinations OSCE & OSPE) as per BMDC Course Curriculum.

FEATURES OF MBBS COURSE :
1. MBBS Course will be of 05 (five) years duration plus 01 (one) year Internship     Training.
2. There will be 03 (three) professional examinations during the MBBS course.
    At the end of 1½ years - First Professional
    At the end of 3½ years - Second Professional
    At the end of 5 years - Final Professional
3. There will be 02 (two) Professional examinations in one year
    In 1st week of January
    In 1st week of July

  3. Biochemistry

In 2 nd Professional

  1. Pathology
  2. Microbiology
  3. Community Medicine

  5. Forensic Medicine and Toxicology

In Final Professional

  1. Medicine
  2. Surgery
  3. Obs. & Gynae

MBBS degree is awarded by Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Sylhet after passing final professional MBBS examination.
